Shopping at Idlewild is easy, but please read these instructions before ordering.

- See something you like? Click "Add to Cart" on the product page.
- During checkout, you can choose in-store pickup (free) or to have the books shipped to you or a third party.
- If you choose in-store pickup, you can choose whether to pay online (now) or in the store (when you pick up the books).
- Anything with an "Add to Cart" icon can be picked up in our store but not always the same day.
- If the books you want are listed as "On our shelves now," they're probably ready for immediate pickup. We'll let you know as soon as we can but you can call 212-414-8888 to confirm if you're in a hurry.
- If the inventory status for any of your books is "Ships in 1 to 5 days" or "Special Order" we'll contact you as soon as your full order arrives. We can get most in-print books within 1-2 working days.
- Books can be shipped anywhere in the US. Please note that delivery time depends on the inventory status.
- "On our shelves now" - Books with this inventory status will usually be shipped the next day.
- "Ships in 1 to 5 days" - These books will be sent from our warehouse, but please note that the delivery time you choose (for example, 2-day shipping) will be in addition to the time indicated by the inventory status. (For example, it could take a couple of days longer than the "2-day shipping" you chose because the warehouse needs 1 to 5 days on top of this.) If you are in a hurry and are concerned about the exact delivery date, please call us at 212-414-8888 before making your purchase. Please also note that books listed as "Ships in 1 to 5 days" ship faster when you leave the Comments section blank during checkout. (Long story but trust us on this!)
- "Special order" - These books are not in our store or warehouse - often because the publisher needs to print more copies - but we will notify you how long this order will take (and to ensure that you still want the book) or let you know if the book is not available. (Your card will not be charged for books that have not yet shipped or are unavailable.)
